Croques Animation LLC is an independent studio started by Carlos Roqués.

His animated work is dark & funny. It employs themes of guilt and liberation, using the Catholic mythos as a motif. He is fascinated by how humanity's actions and beliefs are in conflict; how our unintended intentions do harm. 600 years ago Carlos’s ancestor donated to Columbus’ first voyage, he’d like to apologize on behalf of his 10th-great uncle. His Spanish heritage plays a leading role in his work, characters are often split between two-worlds and yearn to belong. 

After graduating from DePaul University's animation program, he began working as a 2D animator for Kissing Party Studios, creating short-skits while cutting his teeth as a freelance artist. Eventually he worked his way to animation director of three short Adult Swim advertisements, and contributed some background work to an original television pilot, ‘Floor 999.’ He also led animation for a campaign with Meg Donnelly, a Disney actress turned musician for her new single ‘In My Bag’. After that he collaborated with Anchorage Digital for a series of 10 short cartoons for a Formula 1 sponsorship. His work is multi-stylistic, and he enjoys casting a wide net visually, whether it’s 2D, 3D, or stop motion.
